Burger King on Pike Street shut down on December 31, 2021. Many people loved going to this Burger King for the great service, good food, and how clean it was inside. It is very sad that they have closed for good.
From reviews and people talking, they have said that this Burger King was a
great first job experience. The managers and co-workers were amazing. A couple
co-workers who have worked there got asked a couple questions on what there
opinion was on working and getting along with other people. One person who
worked there for around a year said,”It wasn’t great at times but everyone always
knew how to keep your spirit up.” Another who worked there for around 8 months
said,”We was all family in there. It was almost like anything in there stayed there,
we was that close.”
The main reason on why they could not stay open was because there was not
enough sells to keep everything flowing like it should. One of the reasons why there
wasn’t enough sells was because we didn’t have a lot of people to keep the store
open all day. So the days that they were only opened for 7:00am-6:00pm or
10:00am-5:00pm was because there was not enough people for the other shifts. So
only having the store opened 11-7 hours shortened the sells up a lot more than they
should’ve been.
When Covid first hit, the lobby shut down completely but over the summer of
2021 it opened back up for a short amount of time until Covid wasn’t as bad as
before. As the summer went by the virus started to spread again and that was
about the same time that people started quitting. That was the reason the lobby
was never opened and when it was it was only opened from 11:00am-2:00pm.
The pay rate that Burger King had was $8.45-$10.00 an hour but towards the
end it was $12.00 an hour. If you called off for so many days or showed up late then
it would stay at $8.45 until the manger felt like you was doing better. Also, lets say
someone just started working and they were about 3 months into the job and they
started out at $10.00, if they was to learn register, headset, bagging, etc. they
could’ve gotten a raise from that.
There was always a lot of fun moments that happened in that store. Like what
was all said, before it was filled with some amazing people. It’s sad to think that
they actually shut down but there’s always a chance that something else will one
day set right there.
